TREASURE Makes Japanese Debut with an Album Planned For March

YG Entertainment’s rookie artist TREASURE will set their foot in the Japanese music market in March.

On the 21st, YG Entertainment officially announced that TREASURE will release their Japanese debut album THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT on March 31st.

This will be the Japanese version of TREASURE’s first full-length album, THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT, which recorded 280,000 sales in copies. A total of 13 songs including the Japanese versions of all 12 songs as well as their first original Japanese song “BEAUTIFUL” will be carried on the album. “BEAUTIFUL” is also the ending theme song of Black Clover, a popular anime series.

TREASURE had been receiving keen attention from Japan’s local media and fans since its early days. The news of their show, YG TREASURE BOX, and the debut was reported in real-time on Japanese media.

Though this is only their beginning, TREASURE’s popularity and growth potential in Japan have been proven through the figures. From their debut song “BOY,” to “I LOVE YOU,” “MMM,” and “MY TREASURE,” the 4 series of THE FIRST STEP have all topped Japan’s major music charts. Furthermore, out of 1 million copies sold from THE FIRST STEP series, 26% were from Japan. This is the same percentage as those from Korea.

The group’s Japanese member Mashiho expressed his thoughts and determination as he said, “We will do our best to deliver dreams and hopes to more people through our debut in Japan.”
