According to the industry on the 13th, tvN’s Seol Min Seok’s Naked World History is looking for an expert to replace Seol Min Seok, who has halted all broadcasts as he acknowledged the plagiarism in his master’s thesis and the controversy over distortion of history. A staff said, “We are thinking about moving away from the previous format in which Seol Min Seok used to lecture, and considering switching to a format where we invite different experts for each episode.”

Naked World History will be canceled for the fourth week on the 16th, after Seol Min Seok’s departure. The movie Tazza was aired instead of the show, at 10.30 p.m. KST that day.

“While we are continuously discussing the direction of the program, the production team is putting their heads together to stop the show from being canceled for good,” a staff said, “though we are looking for an expert to replace Seol Min Seok, it is not easy.”

Seol Min Seok previously apologized after being in a controversy over the distortion of history, as he misrepresented the facts while explaining about Cleopatra in the second episode of Naked World History, Egypt. However, a plagiarism controversy arose after, claiming that his master’s thesis from Yonsei University’s Graduate School of Education in 2010 was plagiarized. Since then, Seol apologized and dropped out of all programs.
