Sohn Suk Hee Returns as Host for ‘New Year’s Debate’ After a Year

With JTBC’s New Year’s Debate greets viewers with controversial issues at the beginning of the New Year, CEO Sohn Suk Hee will feature as its host. His appearance on the screen this time just a year after he departed from Newsroom last January 2nd.

JTBC’s New Year’s Debate will air at 8.40 p.m. KST on January 4th and 5th. This is the eighth year running since 2014.

On January 4th, the first day of debate, the dean of the Graduate School of Law at Hankuk Uni. of Foreign Studies Jung Han Joong, Kim Yong Min of the Democratic Party of Korea, former member of the National Assembly Geum Tae Seop, and former professor at Tong Yang Uni. Jin Joong Kwon will make an appearance.

Meanwhile, the second day of the debate will be filled with pending issues of the government within the 4 years of Moon Jae In’s administration. With the question, “What are the tasks of 2021 amid the COVID-19 Crisis?” current preventive measures will be evaluated, as real estate issues are subject to discussion, with about a year left in his term.

Former anchor Sohn Suk Hee will be in charge of hosting the debate. New Year’s Debate is JTBC’s annual event that Sohn proposed and created right after his inauguration, while in charge of the news department.

However, when asked whether this will be his full-fledged return to screens, JTBC claims that “He does not consider it so.”
