On the 30th, the crew of MBC’s Those Who Cross the Line informed through its official website that Seol Min Seok will drop out of the program.

They continued, “We are discussing future directions for the program, and this week’s Those Who Cross the Line Returns will be canceled. We ask for your understanding.”

Earlier on this day, Seol Min Seok apologized through his Facebook page, saying, “I am sorry for causing inconvenience and concern to many people due to the plagiarism of the master’s thesis.”

Archaeologist Kwan Min Soo from the Korean Egyptology Institute recently pointed out the errors in Seol Min Seok’s lecture on Egypt, aired on tvN’s Seol Min Seok’s Naked World History. Dispatch later raised suspicions of plagiarism, saying, “As a result of verifying Seol Min Seok’s Master’s thesis in Yonsei University’s Graduate School of Education in 2010 through a plagiarism verification website ‘Copykiller’, it showed a 52% of plagiarism rate.”

Seol Min Seok responded saying, “It is my fault without an excuse and I deeply apologize for my complacency as an educator and a person who is studying history.” As he admitted to plagiarizing, he also declared to withdraw from all broadcasts.
