YG confirmed the release of Treasure’s first full album next month. With this, Treasure will present a grand finale to their “The First Step” series and become the first runner from YG to start the year.
On Dec 28 at 9 am KST, YG Entertainment released a teaser poster for Treasure’s first full album, The First Step: Treasure Effect, and announced their comeback on Jan 11, 2021.
In the poster released, the earth drawn as a blue-toned artwork is surrounded by brilliant light, raising the expectations for the group’s new smash.
Treasure Effect was previously mentioned in a concept video that Treasure released before their official debut. Showing their desire to shake the globe, just like how a discovery made in a daily life contributes to the development of mankind, they described it as a “Treasure Effect.” And 5 months later, this term was used as the title of their first full album and depicted as a light that brightened the world.
Treasure’s comeback also highlights YG’s ultra-fast and ultra-intensive strategy. “Treasure is taking an unusual promotion technique in YG that is famous for its high standards of self-examination before the release of an album,” shared YG. “Since their debut on Aug 7, they have released new songs almost every month, and this is the first time this happened in YG since Big Bang. This would have been impossible if they weren’t ready.”
