Chosun University has tentatively concluded that singer Hong Jin Young’s master’s thesis was plagiarized.
According to Yonhap News, Chosun University came to the conclusion that Hong Jin Young’s master’s thesis shows proof of plagiarism. The Council of Graduate School has asked the singer to submit her opinion by Dec 18 at 5 p.m. KST.
The final conclusion will be decided by next week. If the paper is concluded to be plagiarized, then Hong Jin Young’s master’s and doctoral dissertations will automatically be taken away.
The singer recently came under fire when her master’s thesis was reported to have recorded a 74 percent plagiarism rate in the plagiarism review site Copy Killer. Hong denied the accusation but decided to return her dissertations, saying, “I would like to sincerely apologize for this issue as a public figure. Regardless of the reason, I will return my master’s and doctoral dissertations.”
