The remix version of “Savage Love,” in which BTS participated in featuring, soared to No.1 on Billboard Hot 100.

According to Billboard, Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo, and BTS’s “Savage Love (Laxed ” Siren Beat)” is now at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart (dated Oct. 17).

Billboard wrote, “Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo and BTS’ “Savage Love (Laxed ” Siren Beat)” blasts to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, from No. 8, aided by new BTS remixes released at the start of the survey’s tracking week. The song becomes the second Hot 100 No. 1 each for Derulo and BTS and the first for Jawsh 685.”

As “Savage Love” beat out “Dynamite” for the No.1 spot, BTS became the first group to achieve such a feat since the Black Eyed Peas took over the Hot 100 with their smash “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling” in 2009.

Billboard also introduced “Savage Love” as the song that saw the “biggest jump to No. 1 this year,” surging from 8-1 and the 16th song to ascend to No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the first time in 2020.

Billboard also quoted Nielsen Music/MRC data, saying, “‘Savage Love’ drew 16 million U.S. streams (up 32%) and sold 76,000 downloads (up 814%) in the week ending Oct. 8. It also tallied 70.6 million radio airplay audience impressions (down 2%) in the week ending Oct. 11.”

The BTS remix version of “Savage Love,” released on Oct. 2, adds a more sophisticated and emotional appeal to the original version and includes rap in Korean lyrics. This is the first time that a song with Korean lyrics has landed at No.1 on Billboard Hot 100.

BTS has repeatedly proven their power even in the mainstream of American pop music, setting a milestone on Billboard charts not only with their own songs but also with collaboration with pop singers.
