JTBC confirmed the casting of Kim Ji Suk and Jung So Min in their new drama Monthly House (literal title).
The upcoming drama Monthly House tells the love story between a man who “buys” a house and a woman who “lives” in a house. Through the story of two people who are intertwined with “buying my house,” the biggest topic for those living in Korean these days, the drama plans to ask, “what is home to you and what does it mean?” and convey warm consolation. Jung So Min and Kim Ji Suk confirmed their appearance as Na Young Won and Yoo Ja Sung.
Na Young Won (Jung So Min) is an editor of a lifestyle magazine called “Monthly House.” For Na Young Won, “house” is where she can solely be herself, and a place of all her emotions. So she carefully cleans and decorates her house, though it’s a house she rents, as if it were her own house. But then, Yoo Ja Sung, the new devilish landlord, appears. He is the reason why she embarks on a journey to “buy her own house.”
To Yoo Ja Sung (Kim Ji Suk), the CEO of “Monthly House,” “house” is just an asset to make him rich and a place for him to sleep at night. He believed that the only way for him to get rich in Korea was through real estate, so he self-educated himself about real estate even while doing all kinds of work. Now, he is a famous expert in real estate investment. But that’s only until Na Young Won entered his life as an unexpected variable and started to bother his tightly-scheduled life.
Those with opposite thoughts are expected to settle in the hearts of viewers with a real romance based on the extremely realistic theme of “house.” The fun point of Monthly House is the story behind the “real estate” industry and “lifestyle magazine” that most people are interested in but not covered in any drama.
Meanwhile, Monthly House will be directed by Eulachacha Waikiki director Lee Chang Min and written by Myung Soo Hyun, who was well-received for her sympathetic stories in Ugly Miss Young Ae and Drinking Solo. It is scheduled to air on JTBC in the first half of 2021.
