BLACKPINK has set a new record with their first full-length album since debut.

According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK surpassed 800 thousand stock pre-orders for their first full-length album ‘THE ALBUM.’ These figures are based on pre-orders worldwide. In South Korea, pre-orders exceeded 530 thousand. In the United States and Europe, pre-orders reached a combined 270 thousand.

BLACKPINK has set a new record among girl groups for most stock pre-orders, and attention is being drawn to whether or not the group will become the first “million-seller” girl group. This is because these figures are based on data and numbers from less than a week since the albums were first available for pre-order. Since this full-length album is set to release in a month, the number of actual orders are expected to increase further.

YG Entertainment shared, “BLACKPINK’s ‘The Album’ LPs sold out as soon as they were available for pre-order. As orders for the album exceeded our original expected volume, we are currently producing more albums.”
