After making a new history yesterday, BTS talked about their next goal.
During the “Online Global Media Day” held on the morning of September 2 KST, BTS shared their hope to enter the Grammy Awards.
Yesterday, BTS became the first Korean artist to top Billboard HOT 100 with “Dynamite,” released on August 21. Having previously topped Billboard 200 four times, BTS became the only K-pop artist to top two main charts from Billboard.
When asked about their next goal, RM mentioned “Grammy Awards” and hosting concerts. RM said, “Grammy Awards is a stage that any musician dreams of. I hope we can perform our own stage, be nominated, and take home the awards. I believe that BTS has to keep moving forward.”
He then went on to say, “Now, ironically, the concerts, which we always did, became a new goal. I have complicated thoughts, but I want to perform outdoor. I think it became a dream because I have no idea when that will come true.”
RM also asked for more expectations for their new album and expressed his determination to perform like “BTS.” He added, “This year, a new album that we’re working hard on will be released. It probably will be untact, but we are also planning on hosting a concert. BTS will always do the best that we can in our places. We won’t forget what we should do and perform our best on stages.”
