“Trusted Actors” Kim Hee Sun and Joo Won have joined hands for drama Alice.
The press conference for upcoming drama Alice was held on the afternoon of August 25. Kim Hee Sun, Joo Won, Kwak Shi Yang, Lee Da In, and director Baek Soo Chan attended the event.
Alice is a human SF drama about a magical time-traveling story of a woman who resembles the man’s dead mother and a man who lost his emotions. Kim Hee Sun will be playing two characters who look alike, Yoon Tae Yi and Park Sun Young, while Joo Won takes on the role of detective Park Jin Gyeom.
Director Baek Soo Chan showed his confidence in the actors, saying, “It was an obvious choice to choose Kim Hee Sun. The actor needs to digest all ages from 20s to 40s, and Kim Hee Sun is the only one who can pull that off. Also, I heard that Joo Won received about 50 scripts since he was discharged from the army, and I am just honored that he chose this.”
Kim Hee Sun said, “I have to play a double role. And one of them is Joo Won’s mother. I was worried at first about how to play the mother role of a fully grown man, but I realized that maternal love is one thing. Rather, it was more difficult to play the genius physicist. The scene where I have to give a lecture was difficult, but I had fun filming it.”
Joo Woon said, “The reason I chose Alice as my comeback project is simple. It was the most interesting script, and I liked the character.” Later, he added as he showed tears, “The last day of filming, Hee Sun wasn’t there. On my way home, I felt like crying. I’m still emotional,” heralding their perfect chemistry.
Meanwhile, Alice will premiere at 10:00 p.m. on August 28 KST.
