Shin Min Ah will make the most dramatic acting transformation since her debut with movie Diva.
On August 10, movie Diva released the still photos of Shin Min Ah as a professional diver.
Shin Min Ah is wearing a tracksuit and is spotted in front of a banner that reads “National Team Trials.” Her “chilling” face heralds the dynamic transformation of Shin Min Ah, who mostly played a romantic or cute roles. Other photos also show Shin Min Ah either in puzzled or shocked looks, raising the expectations.
Diva is a mystery thriller that occurs when the latent desire and madness wake up after the diving queen, Lee Young, was involved in a mysterious car accident.
Shin Min Ah plays Lee Young, a global diving star. One day, she gets involved in a mysterious car accident with her best friend, Soo Jin (Lee Yoo Young), and wakes up with her memory loss, while Soo Jin has gone missing.
Lee Young hides her inner greed and madness. She will slowly be eaten by insanity due to her desire and obsession for success. Rumor has it that to express Lee Young, Shin Min Ah increased her weight and muscle like a real athlete and even overcame the fear of heights by personally climbing onto the diving board herself.
Diva, which is set to be released next month, is director Jo Seul Ye’s debut film. She previously wrote scripts for INGtoogi: The Battle of Surpluses and Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned.
