Movie Space Sweepers, starring Song Joong Ki and Kim Tae Ri, will meet the audience during the Chuseok season (Korean Thanksgiving holiday).

Merry Christmas, the investment distribution company, announced on July 2 that Space Sweepers, which had previously been scheduled to be released in the summer, postponed its release date in the aftermath of COVID-19 to late September ahead of the Chuseok season.

Space Sweepers, set in 2092, follows the crew of a space junk collector ship called The Victory. When they discover a humanoid robot named Dorothy that’s known to be a weapon of mass destruction, they get involved in a risky business deal.

The movie drew much attention as it is the first Korean movie to unfold stories in space and the return project of top star Song Joong Ki.

Space Sweepers is directed by Cho Sung Hee, who Song Joong Ki has already worked together in the film A Werewolf Boy.
