Seungri (real name Lee Seung Hyun), a former member of Big Bang, will enlist on March 9.
Yonhap News reported that “according to a source, Seungri will join the recruit training center (RTC) of the 6th Infantry Division in Cherowon County, Gangwon Province, on March 9.”
The Military Manpower Administration notified Seungri of his enlistment on March 4 and stated, “If he joins the army, the jurisdiction of the trial will be transferred to the military court according to relevant laws.” They also added that the army will actively cooperate with the prosecution to ensure consistent and fair rulings are made, and ensure that the trial takes into account the progress of the proceedings, such as the outcome of the civilian court’s ruling on related cases.
The Criminal Division 3 of Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office prosecuted Seungri without detention for habitual gambling, violating foreign exchange rules and sex trafficking on January 30.
