SM’s rookie girl group, aespa, is finally making their comeback later this month.
According to Ilgan Sports, aespa has confirmed their comeback this month and is currently brushing up their last-minute preparation.
SM Entertainment confirmed the news, saying, “aespa will make their comeback in May. We will release the exact comeback schedule soon.”
aespa debuted last November with their debut song “Black Mamba.” With it, the group became the fastest K-pop group, whose debut MV garnered 100 million views.
The song is also the quickest debut song to enter Billboard Global Chart. Earlier this year, aespa was chosen as the 2021 brand ambassador of Givenchy for the first time as a K-pop artist.
aespa is SM Entertainment’s first rookie group in six years since the debut of NCT. The group name aespa combines “æ,” which expresses “Avatar X Experience,” and the English word “aspect.” The group made headlines with its unique storytelling of “experiencing a new world while meeting their avatars.”
