Kim Hye Yoon is stepping into the courtroom for the first time in SBS’s upcoming drama Good Partner 2.
On October 28th, the production team unveiled new character stills of Kim as Kang Hye Sung.
Returning two years after its first season, Good Partner 2 follows Cha Eun Kyung (Jang Na Ra), a veteran divorce attorney for whom divorce comes naturally, and Kang Hye Sung, an ambitious lawyer who takes divorce cases seriously, as they become unlikely partners.
Kim plays Kang Hye Sung, a determined attorney who dreams of becoming a renowned divorce specialist. Her first encounter with the legendary Cha Eun Kyung leads to a heated showdown over a divorce case.
The newly released stills show Kang Hye Sung working as a lawyer at Chunjeong Law Firm, where she began her legal career. With her sharp gaze and confident expression, Kim captures the character’s ambition and determination.
Having built a strong reputation in her region by handling numerous civil and criminal cases, Kang Hye Sung is now set to cross paths with one of the country’s most respected divorce attorneys.
Speaking about joining the second season, Kim said, “It’s an honor to be part of such a great project. Since I’m playing a newly introduced character, I’m both excited and curious to see how viewers will respond.”
Explaining why she chose the role, she added, “I’ve never played a character in a field like law before, so I wanted to take this opportunity to show a different side of myself.”
Describing Kang Hye Sung, Kim said, “She’s someone who carries emotional wounds and pain but grows after meeting a good partner. Her determination to do well sometimes leads her to make mistakes when her enthusiasm doesn’t quite fit the situation, but she learns to overcome them and grow.”
She continued, “I tried to bring out her passion, initiative and willingness to give her all in everything she does. Above all, her bright, sparkling eyes are one of her most charming features.”
In the first season, which aired in 2024, Nam Ji Hyun starred opposite Jang Na Ra as her colleague. With Kim Hye Yoon stepping in as Jang’s new partner, the sequel will introduce a fresh dynamic between the two leads.
Good Partner 2 premieres November 20th at 9:50 PM KST on SBS.
