Yoo Yeon Seok and Ko A Sung have been named jurors for the Actor of the Year Award at the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
The award recognizes promising performers who deliver standout performances in films selected for BIFF’s Vision – Korean Cinema section. One male and one female actor are selected, with each receiving 5 million won in prize money. The jury is traditionally made up of two established Korean actors.
Yoo made his film debut as the younger Lee Woo Jin in Park Chan Wook’s Oldboy in 2003 and has since built a career spanning film, television, theater and musicals.
Ko made her big-screen debut in Bong Joon Ho’s blockbuster The Host in 2006 and went on to establish herself as one of Korean cinema’s prominent actresses.
The Actor of the Year winners will be announced during the festival’s Vision Awards ceremony, with Yoo and Ko presenting the prizes.
The 31st Busan International Film Festival will run from October 6th through October 15th at and around the Busan Cinema Center.
