Seola and Exy of WJSN are leaving Starship Entertainment after nearly a decade with the agency.

Starship Entertainment announced on social media on September 17th that the exclusive contracts of Seola and Exy had expired.

“We sincerely thank Seola and Exy for being with Starship for such a long time,” the agency said. “We will cherish all the moments and precious memories we shared together. We sincerely wish Seola happiness and good fortune as she begins a new chapter.”

Seola also shared a handwritten letter reflecting on her time with the agency.

“I am embarking on a new beginning after leaving Starship Entertainment, where I spent 15 years,” she wrote. “From the moment I first joined Starship to who I am today, we have gone through many seasons together.”

She recalled her years as a trainee, debuting onstage as a member of WJSN, and eventually releasing music under her own name.

“Starship has always been by my side through so many of my firsts and precious memories,” Seola wrote. “Over those 15 years, I learned so much. There were moments of joy and overwhelming emotion, as well as times of disappointment when things didn’t go as planned. But I was able to learn and grow through all of those experiences, and I believe they made me who I am today.”

Both members have also expanded their careers beyond music and into acting. Seola appeared in the 2022 film Urban Myths. Exy has appeared in films including Urban Myths and 18 Youth.
