An influencer who claims to be a former girlfriend of Hong Min Gi has made further allegations of dating violence against the actor.
The influencer posted a lengthy statement on social media on August 19th detailing what she says happened during and after their relationship.
She claimed Hong Min Gi made what she described as sexist comments, including, “I’m a patriotic conservative, but I support voluntary military service,” and, “Men are heaven, women are earth.”
She also alleged that he regularly insulted and belittled fellow actors, staff members and even directors he worked with. According to the influencer, he also spoke negatively about his own fans.
The influencer further alleged that Hong Min Gi treated his pet dog poorly. She claimed that although he posted about the dog on social media, he would verbally abuse and kick it at home. She also alleged that he once left the dog alone for three to four days.
She then described what she says she experienced during their relationship. “He constantly verbally abused and gaslighted me,” she wrote.
She claimed that she blamed herself for his reported panic disorder after their breakup. “I went to his house several times, knelt down, and begged him to apologize,” she said. “But he verbally abused me and kicked things around him for about 20 to 30 minutes.”
She also alleged that Hong Min Gi continued trying to have sex with her and repeatedly touched her after they had broken up. The influencer said she eventually sent a formal legal notice to Hong Min Gi’s side and has begun taking legal action. She explained that she decided to speak publicly because she wanted him to acknowledge what she claims he did and sincerely apologize.
“I didn’t want this to become just gossip or another news story,” she wrote. “I want him to reflect on what he did and acknowledge his mistakes as a person before an actor.”
The influencer had previously accused Hong Min Gi of throwing a soju bottle at her on the street and assaulting and threatening her after allegedly suspecting her of being involved with another man.
These claims have not been independently verified, and no allegations have been legally confirmed at this time. The influencer has since made her social media posts, including her latest allegations, private.
Hong Min Gi’s agency, Fable Company, told The Daily Sports on the morning of August 19th, “There are parts of the claims that differ from the truth. We are currently reviewing and organizing the details internally.”
