BIGBANG is celebrating its 20th anniversary with new music, a world tour and a large-scale takeover of Seoul’s Jamsil area.
YG Entertainment announced on August 10th that BIGBANG will release a new digital single “BiiiG” on August 19th, the group’s 20th anniversary.
The agency also unveiled a poster for the release through its official blog. “BiiiG” will mark BIGBANG’s first new song as a group in about four years and four months, following “Still Life” in April 2022.
“‘BiiiG’ is a song that most clearly captures where BIGBANG is now as the group celebrates its 20th anniversary,” YG said. “We hope fans will look forward to another side of BIGBANG’s musical range after the group has spent years building a sound all its own.”
Just days after the single’s release, BIGBANG will kick off its 20th anniversary world tour “XX: COSMOS” with three shows at Goyang Stadium from August 21st through 23rd. The tour will then travel to 19 cities across North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia for a total of 33 shows.

The anniversary celebrations will also extend across Lotte Town Jamsil. Lotte Department Store is teaming up with YG Entertainment for a large-scale BIGBANG project running from August 14th through 23rd.
The area around Seokchon Lake will be transformed with nighttime displays inspired by BIGBANG’s official light stick, with a special lighting event scheduled for 8:19 PM on August 19th. A nearly 16-foot-tall “Bang Bong Crown” installation will also serve as a photo spot for fans.
Lotte World Mall will host a bakery pop-up and offer limited-edition 20th anniversary products, while around 40 restaurants will use specially designed commemorative napkins.
A media art project titled “BIGBANG TO COSMOS” will also be displayed on the bridge connecting Avenuel and Lotte World Mall, incorporating messages submitted by fans. An immersive exhibition at the Avenuel Art Hall will look back on BIGBANG’s 20-year career with performance footage, behind-the-scenes material and previously unreleased photos.

Lotte Department Store said the project is designed to turn K-pop into a broader experience combining shopping and tourism, while attracting both local fans and international visitors.
“With the number of international tourists visiting Lotte Town Jamsil continuing to grow, we expect this project to offer both Korean and overseas visitors a special new way to experience K-pop content,” said Park Sang Woo, head of marketing at Lotte Department Store.
