Choi Woo Sik, Jang Hye Jin, and Gong Seung Yeon are bringing a deeply human mystery to theaters next February.

The upcoming film Number One has officially locked its February 2026 release and unveiled its first launch stills alongside a teaser.

Number One centers on Ha Min (Choi Woo Sik), who begins seeing a number appear every time he eats a meal cooked by his mother. The number drops by one with each bite—and when it reaches zero, he realizes, his mother Eun Sil (Jang Hye Jin) will die.

The newly released still immediately grabs attention, showing Ha Min eating while wearing sunglasses for reasons unknown, hinting at the strange reality he’s trapped in.

The teaser opens on Ha Min as a high schooler heading out the door for school, when the number in front of his eyes suddenly ticks down from 361 to 360. Confused by the relentless countdown, Ha Min struggles to understand what the numbers mean—until he discovers the horrifying pattern: the count only drops when he eats his mother’s cooking. Panicked, he spits out his food, only to be scolded by Eun Sil, in a moment that feels strikingly familiar.

As time passes, Ha Min grows into adulthood, but the burden never leaves him. His girlfriend Ryeo Eun (Gong Seung Yeon), remarks, “Sometimes you look like someone who’s being chased every single day,” underscoring that he’s still living under the shadow of the countdown. The teaser builds toward a haunting final image: the line “Is your time infinite?” appears as Ha Min turns away from the dinner table, a glowing “1” hovering above his head—leaving a lingering chill.

Number One is also drawing attention for reuniting Choi Woo Sik and Jang Hye Jin following their unforgettable mother-son dynamic in Parasite, which swept the 92nd Academy Awards. Their reunion promises another emotionally charged performance, while Gong Seung Yeon’s warm, grounded presence as Ryeo Eun adds depth to the story.

Number One is aiming to become the must-see movie of early 2026 when it hits theaters this February.
