Lee Jong Suk‘s upcoming fan meeting in the Philippines has been abruptly canceled over major safety concerns.
On November 17th, Ace Factory announced that Lee Jong Suk’s 2025 Asia fan meeting tour scheduled for November 30th at the Araneta Coliseum has been canceled.
The agency explained the decision was unavoidable, stating, “We ask for your understanding, as this decision was made after careful consideration, prioritizing the safety of fans, the artist, and all staff due to a protest scheduled on the same date.”
The protest in question is a massive, anti-government demonstration in Manila in response to a widespread corruption scandal involving a national flood prevention project. An estimated 650,000 people are expected to participate, and the agency ultimately decided to cancel the event rather than risk the safety of attendees.
“We deeply apologize to all fans who looked forward to this fan meeting and ask for your understanding,” the agency continued, adding that ticket refund information would be handled by the local promoter.
Local fans had a mixed reaction. While many expressed disappointment, most were supportive of the decision, with comments like, “Thank you for considering the safety of the actor and fans,” and “Safety comes first.”
However, some international fans who had already made travel arrangements were frustrated. “I’ve already booked flights to Manila and prepared fan support gifts. It’s incomprehensible to simply cancel without postponing,” one fan wrote. Another asked, “Why cancel when it could be postponed to next year?”
