Netflix has confirmed production on Mission: Cross 2, the sequel to the action-comedy hit that captivated viewers worldwide with its blend of sharp humor and big-scale set pieces.
The original film, released in August 2024, shot to No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Films (Non-English) within three days and landed in the Top 10 across 43 countries in week two—setting the stage for major anticipation around the franchise’s return.
The sequel centers on a mysterious organization targeting Korea’s cultural treasures, pushing married duo Kang Mu and Mi Seon into an all-or-nothing operation to stop the smuggling scheme.
Hwang Jung Min returns as Kang Mu, the gentle husband and former special agent who hung up his gear after capturing General Park—only to be pulled back in when the president tasks him with recovering a stolen national treasure. Yum Jung Ah reprises her role as Mi Seon, the ex–national shooting athlete and ace detective who, after a demotion, relocates with her husband to a quiet coastal village before diving back into action.
Familiar faces return as well: Jung Man Shik as the steadfast team captain Sang Woong, along with Cha Rae Hyung and Lee Ho Cheol as the slightly scatterbrained but essential teammates Hun Gi and Dong Su.
New cast members amplify the sequel’s scale, including Yoon Kyung Ho as Chun In Hak, the elusive mastermind behind the artifact thefts; Lim Sung Jae as Do Chil, a fence known as the “sommelier of stolen goods”; Cha In Pyo as the president who seeks out the couple; and Kim Kuk Hee as his loyal chief of staff.
With a star-packed lineup and an expanded world, Mission: Cross 2 promises an even bigger fusion of action and comedy. The film will stream exclusively on Netflix.
