Single’s Inferno 5 star Lee Sung Hun has vehemently denied allegations of past infidelity and announced plans to file a defamation lawsuit.
Taiwan’s Liberty Times reported on February 2nd that Lee had become the subject of controversy following a viral video by influencer Kevin Ninh. In a video titled “2025 Dating Year-End Review,” Ninh claimed to have met a male contestant from the show. While the video has since been deleted, media outlets and netizens quickly identified the individual as Lee Sung Hun, who appeared in Episode 2 of the series.
The controversy centers around claims that Lee was unfaithful during his relationship. Reports allege that Lee was dating popular influencer Hena Yang at the time of the encounter. She has over one million followers on TikTok.
Lee responded directly to the rumors on social media on January 21st, stating that he had never been unfaithful to his former partner. He called the claims false and revealed he was taking legal action for defamation.
He also shared his side of the meeting with Kevin Ninh, explaining that it was purely platonic. Lee mentioned that Ninh had followed his social media for a long time and suggested dinner when visiting New York. Since Lee had free time that day, he agreed, and they just had dinner and talked as friends.
Lee expressed frustration over the situation, saying he was deeply disappointed that someone would fabricate stories to create content at others’ expense. He also remarked that what he had believed to be a genuine friendship ultimately turned out to be just a means for content creation.
As the controversy continued to grow, Lee reportedly changed his Instagram handle from @ssamuellee to @snhgnl before eventually deactivating his account entirely. Despite the online storm, he is reportedly continuing with his scheduled media interviews and photoshoots.
Meanwhile, rumors have been spreading online that Lee Sung Hun may be related to former South Korean president Lee Myung Bak.

The speculation first gained traction on online communities and social media, where users began dissecting Lee Sung Hun’s background following his rising popularity on the show. A post on X claimed that he is directly related to the former president, and it has since garnered over 4 million views before being deleted.
Given his extremely wealthy and elite background, this rumor doesn’t seem entirely unfounded. Lee Sung Hun attended UC Berkeley and is currently a quant trader in New York City. He has worked at Amazon and Google as a software engineer.
