The upcoming K-pop film from HYBE America and Paramount Pictures has finalized its cast and officially started filming in South Korea. The newly announced cast members join previously confirmed leads Yoo Ji Young and singer-actor Eric Nam.

On September 24th, the studios announced that Korean stars Sung Joon, Kang So Ra, Lee Hyung Chul, and Yoo Ji Tae have joined the ensemble. The cast also includes international actors like Tony Revolori of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Gia Kim of XO, Kitty.

Principal photography began in Seoul on September 21st. The movie will be the first major Hollywood studio production to be filmed entirely on location in South Korea. Filming will also take place in cities like Incheon, Gimpo and Paju, in addition to Korea’s main city, Seoul.

The film tells the story of a Korean-American girl who defies her family to compete on a TV audition show to become a member of a new K-pop girl group.

The project is being directed by Benson Lee, known for the acclaimed indie film Seoul Searching, and written by Eileen Shim, a co-writer on the hit Disney Plus Star Wars series The Acolyte.

The film is slated for a global theatrical release on February 12, 2027.
