Song Joong Ki, Jun Ji Hyun, Lee Jung Jae: A-List Stars Return to Heat Up Korean TV This Fall

SBS kicks things off July 25 with The Winning Try, a feel-good sports comedy starring Yoon Kye Sang as a quirky coach leading a last-place rugby team to nationals. Then comes Go Hyun Jung in The Mantis: Original Sin, a psychological thriller about a killer copying past serial murders.

MBC dives into heavier themes with Mary Kills People, starring Lee Bo Young, Lee Min Ki, and Kang Ki Young as doctors and detectives navigating end-of-life choices. Lee Bo Young’s husband Ji Sung also returns in Judge Lee Han Young (literal title), a courtroom drama premiering later this year.

tvN leads with legal drama Law and The City, pairing Lee Jong Suk and Moon Ga Young. The network follows up with Lee Jun Ho’s office drama Typhoon Corporation (literal title), Jung Kyung Ho and So Ju Yeon’s human drama Pro Bono, and the fantasy romance Bon Appetit, Your Majesty led by YoonA and Lee Chae Min.

The most talked-about project? Lee Jung Jae’s return. After Squid Game, he stars in Mean Love (literal title), a romance with 18-years-younger Lim Ji Yeon. The age-gap pairing is already making waves.

JTBC introduces Beyond The Bar, a legal drama with Lee Jin Wook and Jung Chae Yeon. The network also rolls out Waiting for Gyeong Do (Park Seo Joon, literal title), The Story of Manager Kim, Who Works for a Large Company in Seoul (Ryu Seung Ryong, literal title), and One Hundred Memories (Kim Da Mi and Shin Ye Eun). The season closes with the emotional romance My Youth, starring Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee.

Disney Plus leads the OTT race with its A-list lineup. Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won star in Tempest, an action-mystery with a UN diplomat and special agent chasing a massive global secret. It’s Kang’s first drama in 21 years.

Also coming to the platform: Made in Korea with Hyun Bin and Jung Woo Sung, set in 1970s Korea and already confirmed for Season 2. It also marks Jung Woo Sung’s return following the scandal. Other titles include The Manipulated (Ji Chang Wook, Do Kyung Soo) and The Murky Stream (Rowoon, Shin Ye Eun).

Netflix keeps its heavyweight status with Lee Ha Nee’s Aema and Kim Eun Sook’s fantasy rom-com Genie, Make A Wish, starring Kim Woo Bin as a genie and Suzy as a woman lacking emotion. Also in Netflix’s pipeline: Cashero with Lee Jun Ho, Can This Love Be Translated? starring Kim Seon Ho and Go Youn Jung, and mystery drama The Price of Confession with Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun.

TVING brings Dear X, a romance starring Kim Yoo Jung and Kim Young Dae, and Villains, a gritty crime series with Yoo Ji Tae and Kwak Do Won.
