Netflix has confirmed the production of Cashero and tapped Junho, Kim Hye Jun, Kim Byung Chul, and Kim Hyang Gi to star in the upcoming series.
Based on the popular Kakao webtoon of the same name, Cashero is a story about a regular government employee named Kang Sang Woong who gains the superpower to become stronger the more cash he holds. He uses his newfound power to save the world, even though it means emptying his bank account.
King the Land and The Red Sleeve star Junho will play Kang Sang Woong, a regular government employee who dreams of buying his own house. However, his life changes when he inherits a superpower that is not very cost-effective.
Kingdom and A Shop for Killers star Kim Hye Jun will play Kang Sang Woong’s longtime girlfriend, Kim Min Sook. She is a practical woman who is good with numbers. She is also a supportive girlfriend who is always there fore Kang Sang Woong.
Kim Byung Chul, who has starred in many popular dramas like Doctor Cha, SKY Castle, Descendants of the Sun and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, will play a role named The Lawyer. He is an attorney with a quaint ability that is activated when he drinks alcohol. He is the leader of the Korean Superpower Association and is fighting against the mysterious organization “The Association of Criminals.”
Kim Hyang Gi, who has starred in the films Along with the Gods series, will play the role of Bang Eun Mi. She is a superhero with the ability to use telekinesis, but only when she has eaten a certain amount of calories. She is a fearless and loyal friend to Kang Sang Woong and The Lawyer.
The series is directed by Lee Chang Min, who has directed the dramas The Agency and Welcome to Waikiki, and written by Lee Je In and Jeon Chan Ho of drama Sisyphus: The Myth.
Cashero will be available exclusively on Netflix.
