A touching story about Won Bin and the late Kim Sae Ron is once again capturing public attention.
Following the heartbreaking news of Kim Sae Ron’s passing in February, many entertainment industry colleagues visited her memorial. Notably, Won Bin, who formed a bond with her through the film The Man From Nowhere, personally paid his respects.

In The Man From Nowhere, he played Tae Sik, a former special agent who rescues his young neighbor Somi (Kim Sae Ron) after a criminal organization kidnaps her.
Kim Sae Ron was known to have shared a special relationship with Won Bin. She once revealed a laptop she received from Won Bin as a birthday gift.
Additionally, on a broadcast show, she mentioned, “I’ve met and learned from many people while acting. While others are memorable too, Uncle Won Bin remains the most memorable to me.” Won Bin became a topic of conversation when it was revealed that he quit smoking during the filming of The Man From Nowhere out of consideration for Kim Sae Ron, who was only 10 at the time.
Furthermore, in 2014, when the “Ice Bucket Challenge” was trending among celebrities, Kim Sae Ron participated and picked Won Bin as the next participant. The Ice Bucket Challenge was a fundraising campaign conducted by the American ALS Association to help develop treatments for ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and to support patients. Won Bin gladly responded to Kim Sae Ron’s request, pouring ice water over himself.
