The hit BL webtoon Painter of the Night is officially getting a live-action adaptation—with rising actors Kim Kang Jae and Ji Min Seo in the lead roles.
According to the production team, filming has already wrapped, and the project is currently in post-production, with plans to release it in the near future.
Based on the popular 19+ webtoon of the same name, Painter of the Night is set in the Joseon era and follows nobleman Yoon Seung Ho, who becomes captivated by a collection of erotic paintings created by Baek Na Kyum, a lowborn artist. The story unfolds as their relationship deepens in unexpected ways.

The original series became a major global hit and is considered one of Lezhin Comics’ flagship titles, even inspiring a widely loved OST, “Night Flower,” performed by Ahn Ye Eun.
In this upcoming short-form drama, Kim Kang Jae will take on the role of Yoon Seung Ho, while Ji Min Seo plays Baek Na Kyum. The project is directed by Choi Bo Kyung, who previously co-directed The Divorce Insurance.
The series is set to be released through Lezhin’s short-form platform, Lezhin Snack.
