Jungkook’s official Instagram account was briefly blocked in what appears to have been a temporary incident.

The BTS member posted a photo to his official TikTok account on May 27th with no explanation, adding only a question mark.

The image showed a notification from Instagram stating, “JK, your account has been blocked.” The notice also said the account would be permanently disabled if he did not request a review within 180 days.

The reason given by Instagram appears to have been an intellectual property issue. The notice stated that the account, or activity from the account, did not comply with its terms on intellectual property. As a result, Jungkook’s account was temporarily unavailable.

By May 28th, however, the account appeared to be back to normal. Jungkook’s Instagram page is once again accessible, with his previous posts and profile restored.

Jungkook previously deleted his old Instagram account in February 2023, despite having 52.4 million followers at the time. He later opened his current account last July, which recently surpassed 21.66 million followers.

BTS also recently swept all three categories they were nominated in at the American Music Awards on the 25th local time, including the night’s top honor, Artist of the Year. Their fifth full-length album, ARIRANG, won in every category it was nominated for, despite being entered based on just six days of tracking after its release.
