Netflix has released the first character stills from Bloodhounds Season 2, teasing an explosive showdown between Woo Do Hwan, Lee Sang Yi and Rain.
The upcoming season continues the story of Gun Woo (Woo Do Hwan) and Woo Jin (Lee Sang Yi), who previously took down a ruthless loan shark ring. This time, the duo goes up against a global underground boxing league fueled by money, violence and illegal betting.
The newly released images highlight Gun Woo’s hardened determination. This season, he returns with an even stronger resolve to protect the people he cares about while chasing his dream of becoming a champion.
“Compared to Season 1, his environment has changed—even his home is different—and he now pursues his dream of becoming a champion with a bit more peace of mind,” Woo Do Hwan said. “Since three years have passed, I wanted to show how Gun Woo has grown both physically and mentally.”
Lee Sang Yi’s character Woo Jin also returns. Once Gun Woo’s rival in the ring, he now works as his boxing coach, standing firmly by his side as they pursue the championship together.
“Woo Jin loves boxing and has a great heart,” Lee Sang Yi said. “He becomes Gun Woo’s coach, and the two grow into friends, brothers and family.” He added that while Woo Jin was more playful in Season 1, the new season shows a more mature and dependable side.
The biggest new threat comes from Baek Jung, played by Rain. The ruthless figure runs a massive illegal boxing league driven entirely by profit and high-stakes betting. Making his first major villain turn, Rain described the character as “a brutal human weapon with no blood or tears.” He explained, “Baek Jung once dreamed of becoming a champion, but after failing, he built an illegal boxing league and now rules it as king.”
Director Kim Joo Hwan praised the chemistry between the two leads. “We filmed more than 270 scenes with Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi,” he said. “They feel like family—brothers and even teachers to each other. Their bromance is even deeper this season.”
He also described Baek Jung as an even more dangerous villain than Season 1’s antagonist. “If Myeong Gil was the leader of wolves, Baek Jung is a giant tiger—someone who hunts alone and is far more vicious and deadly.”
Bloodhounds Season 2 premieres worldwide on Netflix on April 3rd.
