Park Hye Su has parted ways with her longtime agency after more than a decade together.
On March 8th, Ghost Studio announced that its exclusive contract with the actress had recently come to an end. Park Hye Su first signed with the company’s former label, Sim Entertainment, in June 2015, marking the start of her acting career and an 11-year partnership.
She made her acting debut in the 2015 drama Yong Pal and went on to appear in several popular series including Hello, My Twenties!, Introverted Boss, and Saimdang: Memoir of Colors. On the big screen, she also starred in films such as Will You Be There and Swing Kids.
Park Hye Su received particularly strong praise for her role in the film Samjin Company English Class.
However, her career faced a major setback in 2021 when allegations of school bullying surfaced online. At the time, a user posted on an online community claiming they had been bullied by Park Hye Su during their school years.
The actress and her agency denied the allegations, calling them “groundless” and indicating they would pursue legal action.
Despite the denial, the controversy continued to follow her. She attempted to return to acting with the 2023 film The Dream Songs, and the drama Dear.M, whose broadcast had previously been delayed a couple of years before airing on KBS last year.
Still, the bullying allegations remained a lingering issue in the public eye.
Meanwhile, Park Hye Su is reportedly now running a cafe in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
