Jun Ji Hyun has bought two buildings in Seoul’s trendy Ateliergil area for a total of 46.8 billion won ($32.5 million).
According to court documents from February 27th, she purchased a five-story building in the Seongsu district last September for 18.6 billion won ($12.9 million). The building has a total area of about 1,042㎡. She also bought a three-story building in the same area for 26 billion won ($18 million), with a total area of about 1,129㎡.
In addition, Jun Ji Hyun bought a 50㎡ plot of land between the two buildings for 2.2 billion won ($1.5 million).
She finished paying off the balance and registered the properties under her name on February 23rd. A mortgage for up to 33.6 billion won ($23.3 million) was also taken out, with the original loan estimated around 28 billion won ($19.4 million).
The buildings are in the upper part of Seongsu Ateliergil, unlike the nearby area where rental prices have skyrocketed. Real estate expert Kim Kyung Hyun said, “The price per pyeong was 156 million won, a bit higher than nearby properties, but it’s a good investment due to Seongsu-dong’s potential.”
Jun Ji Hyun has several real estate holdings in Seoul. In 2023, she bought a duplex penthouse in Acro Seoul Forest for 13 billion won ($9 million), paying in full with cash. In 2022, she purchased a commercial building in Deungchon-dong for 50.5 billion won ($35 million). She also owns commercial properties in the Ichon and Samsung districts.
In 2021, Jun Ji Hyun made a 14 billion won ($9.7 million) profit when she sold a building in the Nonhyeon district. She also sold her Samsung district residence for 13 billion won ($9 million), which she bought for 7.5 billion won ($5.2 million) in 2014.
With these latest purchases, Jun Ji Hyun now owns five commercial properties, worth nearly 150 billion won ($104 million) in total.
