The Korean entertainment industry is buzzing as Song Kang and Kim So Hyun are reportedly considering to star in a new drama titled White Scandal (literal title).
Both actors’ agencies confirmed on February 24th that they have received offers for the series and are currently reviewing them.
White Scandal is based on a web novel by author Moon Chae Ah. The story centers on Ji Eun Seol, a former child actress whose promising career collapses after she takes the blame for her brother’s crime. Now working as a road manager, she crosses paths with Dan Yi Hyuk, a man deeply connected to her past. Their unexpected reunion leads to a contract relationship, and together they begin uncovering long-hidden secrets.
Kim So Hyun has reportedly been offered the role of Ji Eun Seol, while Song Kang is in talks to play Dan Yi Hyuk, the character who proposes the contract relationship.
The two previously starred together in the Netflix series Love Alarm, which aired its first and second seasons in 2019 and 2021. If both accept, White Scandal would mark their on-screen reunion about five years later.
The drama will be written by Kim Ga Eun, known for Call It Love, and directed by Kim Chul Gyu, who previously helmed acclaimed series such as Mother and Flower of Evil. The project is currently in the casting stage, with filming expected to begin in the second half of this year. A release schedule has not yet been announced.
