Joo Jong Hyuk is showing a softer side — and it involves a tearful moment at his best friend’s wedding.
On the upcoming February 24th episode of SBS variety show Whenever Possible, hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Yeon Seok team up with actors Ra Mi Ran and Joo Jong Hyuk for a lively outing around Paju.
During the episode, Joo Jong Hyuk reveals just how close he is to actor Jang Jae Ho and his wife Gong Min Jung. “I lived with Jae Ho for seven years,” he shared. “I even gave a speech at his wedding, but I couldn’t hold back my tears.”
The actor laughed as he recalled how emotional he became. “I was crying so hard that people started asking if I was his ex,” he joked, drawing laughs on set.
Joo Jong Hyuk also spoke about taking on his first stage play alongside veteran actor Shin Goo. “Just practicing with him feels so meaningful,” he said shyly. “My heart races every time I go.”
His earnest personality doesn’t stop there. Joo Jong Hyuk also earns the nickname “praise seeker” on the show, repeatedly asking for encouragement before each game. “I think I’ll do better if you cheer me on,” he tells the hosts, prompting playful exasperation from Yoo Jae Suk, who finally blurts out, “Jong Hyuk, give me a chance to praise you!”
