‘My Only One’ Actor Jung Eun Woo Laid to Rest; Colleagues Share Heartbreaking Final Messages

Jung Eun Woo has been laid to rest.

The funeral procession took place at the New Goryeo Hospital in Gyeonggi Province on February 13th. He was 40 years old. In accordance with the bereaved family’s wishes, flowers and condolence money were respectfully declined.

Jung, best known for his role in the hit KBS2 drama My Only One, passed away suddenly on February 11th. While the specific cause of death has not been disclosed, his passing has deeply affected fans and colleagues alike, with an outpouring of grief from the entertainment industry.

Following the news, many of Jung’s colleagues expressed their sorrow and paid tribute to him.

Pop artist Nancy Lang left an emotional comment on Jung’s final social media post. “Eun Woo, I just heard the news,” she wrote. “I didn’t realize the photos you posted the day before were a sign. My heart aches, and I feel numb. I wish you had reached out. Rest in peace.”

Kim Yoon Seo also shared her grief, writing, “I’m so sorry. I never got to say a proper goodbye. My heart has been broken all day, but I can’t just cry when I think of everything you endured. You went through so much.”

Park Seul Gi recalled his kindness on set. “I’m sorry I couldn’t contact you because I was busy with my own family,” she shared. “Even during hectic drama schedules, you always held your script with such focus and laughed at my small stories. Your memory is still so vivid in my mind. I hope you find peace and happiness now.”

Veteran actress Moon Hee Gyeong, his co-star in Bride of the Sun, expressed, “I was looking forward to working together again. How could you leave like this? You were such a kind, wonderful actor.”

Hwang Young Long shared a particularly heartfelt tribute, revealing that she had missed a call from him. “I should have answered your call. I didn’t know. I’m so, so sorry,” she wrote. “I should have paid more attention.”

Messages exchanged between Jung and Hwang were also shared, offering insight into the actor’s state of mind. In these messages, Jung expressed feelings of disillusionment, sharing, “There are so many dishonest people in the world. I felt like a fool at the broadcasting station.” He later wrote, “I tried to find comfort in others after being hurt by people. It’s difficult to cope with, and I don’t know how people continue to live like that.”

Jung Eun Woo has been cremated and laid to rest at the Byeokje Crematorium.
