Korea Economic TV reported that Jennie of BLACKPINK has purchased a building in Yongsan for 20 billion KRW ($13.7 million).

The report revealed that Jennie signed the contract in May of last year and finalized the ownership transfer in December, citing sources from the investment banking and real estate industries.

What has shocked fans and industry insiders is the payment method. Registry documents show no mortgage was taken out on the property, implying that the 28-year-old star paid the entire $13.7 million sum in cash.

The building itself is unique. Completed in 1970, it comprises one basement level and two above-ground floors. It is currently being used as the Iraqi Embassy in South Korea.

This isn’t Jennie’s first high-value cash purchase. This follows her July 2023 purchase of a $3.4 million luxury villa in Hannam’s UN Village, which she also bought in cash.

While expanding her real estate portfolio, Jennie is also gearing up for her musical return. BLACKPINK is set to release their highly anticipated third mini-album, DEADLINE, on February 27th at 2 PM KST. The album features five tracks, including the title song “GO” and the pre-release single “JUMP.”
