Daddoa, a pioneering first-generation beauty creator who helped introduce K-beauty to a global audience, has passed away at the age of 29.

Daddoa died on December 16th of last year, according to industry reports. Her management agency, Leferi, confirmed the news and requested privacy for her family during this difficult time. “Please refrain from speculation so the family can mourn quietly, in line with their wishes,” the agency said in a statement.

Leferi also honored her legacy, saying, “Daddoa was more than just a first-generation YouTuber; she was the first to demonstrate the global potential of K-beauty.”

Born in 1996, Daddoa’s journey as a beauty creator began after she returned to Korea from high school in Laos, where she first saw the rise of Korean beauty products. Over the years, she expanded her platforms to amass around 2.7 million subscribers, making her one of the most influential figures in the industry.

Her impact was felt worldwide. The fashion trade journal WWD named her a “Social Beauty Media Star,” and MAC Cosmetics recognized her as a “Global Beauty Hero.” Even during her hiatus, which began in 2021 as she focused on her studies and prepared for graduate school, Daddoa maintained a loyal following of more than 1 million subscribers on YouTube.

Fans and netizens have shared tributes online, with messages like, “She was too young,” and “May she rest in peace.”
