Heize is closing out the year on an emotional note—with a little help from Ji Chang Wook.
Ji Chang Wook makes a special appearance in the music video for Heize’s new digital single Even if, set to drop on December 31st. The R&B soul track delivers a heartfelt message of loving one person no matter how much the world changes or falls apart. Heize took part in writing and composing the song herself.
The music video has already sparked buzz after being previewed at Heize’s recent solo concert, where Ji Chang Wook’s surprise appearance drew an enthusiastic response from fans. Shot in Sapporo, Japan, the video captures the two in a sorrowful couple’s story, unfolding with a cinematic, film-like atmosphere.
The pairing isn’t entirely unexpected. Heize and Ji Chang Wook previously appeared together on YouTube content “ZOZAZZ,” where they revealed their unexpected friendship. After first meeting through a mutual acquaintance, the two bonded over discovering they lived in the same neighborhood. According to those close to the production, Heize later thought of Ji Chang Wook as the perfect fit for the male lead in a music video and reached out directly.
Following her comeback last month with her 10th mini album LOVE VIRUS Pt.1 and the successful wrap-up of her first solo concert in nearly two years, Heize has kept up a nonstop pace. With Even if, she’s expected to deliver one more meaningful gift to fans as the year comes to a close.
