Song Ji Hyo is opening up about love, her past long relationship, and why marriage no longer feels like a must.
On December 25th, a new video was uploaded to her YouTube channel showing the actress gathering for a Christmas party with her Running Man castmates Kim Jong Kook, Yang Se Chan, and Ji Ye Eun. The relaxed get-together quickly turned reflective as the longtime friends reminisced.
Kim Jong Kook noted that he and Song Ji Hyo have worked together for 16 years on Running Man, adding, “At this point, we know almost everything about each other.” When Yang Se Chan asked whether she usually celebrates Christmas, Kim chimed in, “You probably did when you had a boyfriend, right?”—a nod to Song Ji Hyo’s recent revelation on Running Man that she once dated someone for eight years, a relationship unknown even to the cast.
Song Ji Hyo was quick to clarify. “I actually couldn’t celebrate much,” she said. “I always had events or filming around Christmas. Year-end is the busiest time for us.” She added that she never even had the chance to visit a romantic holiday spot with a partner.
Talking about marriages, the actress opened up, “When I go to weddings, the first thing I think about is how overwhelming it must feel to greet your parents,” revealing how easily she immerses herself in others’ moments.
When Kim Jong Kook joked that this must be why she doesn’t feel the need to get married—since she’s “already been a bride so many times”—Song Ji Hyo coolly agreed. “I really have,” she said, explaining that she’s already imagined walking down the aisle with her father countless times.
Asked whether she feels ready for marriage, Song Ji Hyo replied, “I’ve already experienced it all in my head, so I’m fine.” And when pressed about regrets, her answer was firm: “None at all.”
