Nana has revealed that she now carries self-defense spray following a recent traumatic incident involving a home invasion.

On December 18th, a video featuring Nana was uploaded to the Harper’s Bazaar Korea YouTube channel, where she appeared in a segment introducing items she personally owns. When asked if there was a recent purchase she wanted to recommend to fans, Nana opened her bag and pulled out a self-defense spray.

“I went through a major incident recently and realized firsthand that I’m the only one who can protect myself,” she said. “I hope there’s never a reason to use it, but in case a dangerous situation arises, I want to at least be able to protect myself. That’s why I really want to recommend carrying pepper spray as an essential item.”

Last month, an armed intruder broke into Nana’s home in Acheon-dong, Guri City. According to reports, the suspect climbed up to the balcony using a ladder, entered through an unlocked door, and assaulted Nana’s mother, leaving her injured. Nana and her mother struggled with the intruder and managed to restrain him before calling the police.

When authorities arrived, the suspect—who had suffered an injury to his jaw during the altercation—was taken to a hospital for treatment. During police questioning, he allegedly stated that he was unaware a celebrity lived there and committed the crime due to financial hardship.

Nana’s agency later confirmed that her mother temporarily lost consciousness due to the severity of her injuries, while Nana also sustained physical injuries.
