MBC has just revealed its 2026 drama slate, and it is packed with must-watch titles.
The Judge Returns
MBC will kick off its 2026 drama lineup with Judge Lee Han Young, starring Ji Sung and Park Hee Soon. Premiering January 2nd, the drama follows a corrupt judge (played by Ji Sung) who suddenly goes back 10 years in time. Given a second chance after working as a puppet for a powerful law firm, he decides to change his fate and go up against Kang Shin Jin (Park Hee Soon), the mastermind behind the corruption. With Ji Sung and Park Hee Soon leading the cast, expectations are already high. Won Jin Ah, Tae Won Seok, Baek Jin Hee, and Oh Se Young will also star.
In Your Brilliant Season
In Your Brilliant Season (tentative English title) is also set to premiere this winter. The romance follows Chan (Chae Jong Hyeop), who lives life like it’s always summer, and Ran (Lee Sung Kyoung), whose world feels frozen in winter. When the two meet, they slowly begin to thaw each other’s hearts. The cast also includes Lee Mi Sook, Kang Seok Woo, Han Ji Hyun, and Oh Ye Ju.
Perfect Crown
IU and Byeon Woo Seok’s Perfect Crown, also known as 21st-Century Grand Prince’s Wife, is a romance set in a modern-day South Korea ruled by a constitutional monarchy where social classes still exist. The story follows Sung Hee Ju (IU), a chaebol heiress who remains a commoner despite her wealth, and Grand Prince Yi An (Byeon Woo Seok), the king’s son who has status but no freedom. Chosen through MBC’s drama script competition, the series is already one of the most anticipated titles of 2026.
Fifties Professionals
Fifties Professionals follows three men who once held power but now live quiet, ordinary lives—until fate brings them back into action. This action-comedy shows seasoned “pros” who may be older and a bit rusty, but whose skills and loyalty are still razor-sharp. Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se and Heo Sung Tae lead the cast, with director Han Dong Hwa of Bad Guys: City of Evil and Navillera at the helm.
A Married Killer
A Married Killer (tentative English title) is set for the second half of the year and follows Yoo Bo Na (Gong Hyo Jin), a housewife and mother who secretly works as a killer targeting violent criminals. After three years of maternity leave, she returns to her dangerous job while juggling family life with her husband and young daughter. Jung Joon Won co-stars as her husband, who becomes suspicious and tries to uncover her secret.
Liar
Liar (tentative English title) is a psychological thriller about two people who fight over conflicting memories, each claiming they know the truth. Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin reunite after Dr. Romantic, drawing strong attention. The drama will be directed by Jo Young Min (You and Everything Else), who aims to deliver a tightly crafted, intense story.
Your Ground
Your Ground (tentative English title) is a youth romance about a baseball player (Gong Myoung) whose career stops after one setback. When he meets a lawyer-turned-agent (Han Hyo Joo), he gets a chance to start over and chase his dream again. The drama will be directed by Lee Sang Yeop of Yumi’s Cells.
