BTS superstar Jungkook gave fans a rare and heartwarming glimpse into his daily life this week, revealing that he is currently living with a close childhood friend.
Jungkook hosted a Weverse live broadcast titled “Curry…” to show off his culinary skills. As promised to fans earlier, he spent the session cooking up a batch of miso curry pasta on December 3rd.
While cooking, viewers noticed him chatting comfortably with a man off-camera. “What time did you go to bed yesterday?” Jungkook asked. The man replied, “One o’clock? Two o’clock? Today is my day off.”
The short clip from the live can be seen below. One fan commented, “They’ve been friends since kindergarten, they’re both from Busan, and now they even live together — cooking meals, playing games and telling each other to shut up… Wait.”

Jungkook quickly clarified the mystery voice to his fans. “The friend I live with is from Busan,” he explained. “We’ve known each other since kindergarten. We’re the type of friends who always tell each other to shut up.”
Proving just how close they are, his friend playfully protested from the background, asking, “When did I ever say that?” sparking laughter and showing off their brother-like chemistry.
Netizens reacted to the news with a mix of shock, envy and relief, commenting, “His friend must be incredibly tight-lipped to have kept this a secret,” while others expressed immense jealousy, joking that they were suddenly “the most envious people on earth.”
Some compared the arrangement to the “entourage” lifestyle often seen with successful rappers who bring their childhood friends to live with them, while others wondered if the friend simply works a normal job while living there.
Fans also pointed out the practical benefits, noting that since Jungkook lives in a large detached house that has frequently been targeted by obsessive “sasaeng” fans, having a trusted childhood friend as a roommate is actually a great idea for his safety and peace of mind.
Jungkook completed his mandatory military service on June 11 of this year and has been enjoying his time back in the spotlight. BTS is currently preparing for a highly anticipated full-group comeback slated for next spring.
