Netflix has officially set December 26th as the premiere date for its upcoming series Cashero, releasing a new teaser poster and trailer that introduce viewers to its delightfully surreal “broke-but-brave” hero.
The show brings together a standout cast—Junho, Kim Hye Jun, Kim Byung Chul, Kim Hyang Gi, Lee Chae Min, and Kang Hanna—and mixes an outrageous concept with painfully relatable real-world struggles.
Cashero follows office worker Sang Woong (Junho), who’s saving every penny he’g to for marriage and housing… until he suddenly gains a bizarre superpower: he becomes physically stronger depending on how much cash he’s holding. The catch? Every time he uses that strength, the money in his hand literally disappears.
The newly released poster shows Sang Woong staring anxiously at cash turning to dust in his palm, paired with the line, “What do I do? They want me to do good deeds using my own money.” It perfectly captures his dilemma as an ordinary civil servant who wakes up as “Cashero,” a hero torn between protecting his paycheck and protecting the world.

The teaser builds on the premise with Sang Woong demonstrating his power to his fiancée Min Sook (Kim Hye Jun): the more cash he holds, the stronger he gets—but using that power empties his wallet. His defeated look as he compares his ability to “fly vs. fruit fly” adds a sly sense of humor to his very unglamorous gift.
But the trailer also shows flashes of real heroism—Sang Woong catching a flying bullet with one hand and throwing himself into danger despite the cost. Soon, other superpowered figures appear, including Byeon Ho In (Kim Byung Chul), Bang Eun Mi (Kim Hyang Gi), and the villainous Jonathan (Lee Chae Min) and Jo Anna (Kang Hanna), raising the stakes.
A cheeky line from Sang Woong—”My paycheck hardly lasts in my account”—underscores the series’ central charm: a hero who tiptoes around danger not because he’s scared, but because he’s trying not to spend money.
With its mix of satire, heart, and everyday financial dread, Cashero promises the birth of a hero unlike any viewers have seen before. The show premieres exclusively on Netflix on December 26th.
