The highly anticipated Disney Plus series Made in Korea, starring A-listers Hyun Bin and Jung Woo Sung, is already generating massive buzz, with reports on September 10th claiming a second season has been confirmed before the first has even aired.

The show, a 1970s-set crime epic, is a spin-off of the 2018 film The Drug King and comes from acclaimed director Woo Min Ho. With a star-studded cast that also includes Cho Yeo Jeong and Jung Sung Il, the series has been highlighted by Disney Plus as one of its biggest titles for the second half of the year. “Made in Korea will be a game-changer when it is released,” said Kim Won Guk, CEO of the production company Hive Media Corp.

The early renewal signals immense confidence from the streamer, which comes as one of its lead actors, Jung Woo Sung, navigates a complex and highly public period in his personal life.

Last November, the actor announced that he had become a father with model Moon Ga Bi, stating that while he had no plans to marry her, he would take full responsibility for raising their child.

In a surprising new development, it has now been revealed that Jung has also legally married a different, non-celebrity woman with whom he has been in a long-term relationship. When asked about the marriage, his agency, Artist Company, cautiously responded, “This is the actor’s personal matter.”

Despite the public scrutiny, Jung’s career appears to be on an upswing. He recently landed his first major advertising deal in three years, becoming a model for the cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb alongside actress Jeon Jong Seo.
