Fans of Yoon Doo Joon and Kim Seul Gi were left in shock this week after tvN’s official social media accounts posted what appeared to be a wedding invitation for the two stars. The post, however, turned out to be a clever promotional move for their new drama.
On August 7th, the tvN Drama account uploaded beautiful wedding-style photos of Yoon and Kim, dressed in a tuxedo and wedding gown. The romantic caption read: “Wedding D-10. We first met 10 years ago, and now we’re ready to walk together through the days ahead. Please cheer on the first steps of our new life as a couple.”
The post included a specific date and time, “Yoon Doo Joon and Kim Seul Gi, August 17th, 2025, Sunday, 9:20 PM,” which sent fans into a frenzy, with many believing the two were actually getting married.
It was later revealed that the invitation was a promotion for tvN’s upcoming drama special, ‘O’PENing 2025 – The Cat Custody War (literal translation), which is set to premiere at that exact date and time. The show depicts the fierce battle between a couple on the brink of divorce who are fighting for custody of the cat they raised together.
Fans expressed a mix of astonishment and humorous frustration over the marketing tactic, leaving comments like: “Is this real?!”, “I was so surprised”, “My heart fluttered for a moment”, “Why did they use their real names instead of their character names?”, “I really thought they were getting married.”
