
Ahn Hyo Seop is giving fans another reason to fall for him—this time with a mic in hand.
On July 1st, Ahn Hyo Seop dropped a surprise cover of “Free,” an OST track from the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, where he voices Jinu, the leader of in-film boy group Saja Boys.
The film, which premiered globally on June 20th, has sparked a worldwide sensation. According to FlixPatrol, KPop Demon Hunters held the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Top 10 Movies chart for 11 consecutive days. The soundtrack is also making waves, climbing to No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and placing multiple tracks—including Free—in the upper ranks of Spotify’s global chart.
Ahn’s heartfelt “Free” cover quickly went viral across social media platforms, with fans calling his vocals “idol-worthy” and commenting, “Now all I need is his singer debut.”
The project also marks Ahn’s first voice acting role performed entirely in English, showing his versatility both on and off screen.
Up next, Ahn Hyo Seop is set to make his big-screen debut in the upcoming film Omniscient Reader: The Prophet, opening July 23rd. His next small-screen role will be in the 2026 drama Sold Out Again Today, telling a relatable, slice-of-life story.
