Chae Soo Bin, Nana, and Jisoo shared their thoughts on Omniscient Reader: The Prophet and what it was like stepping into their characters.

Chae Soo Bin plays Yoo Sang Ah, a colleague of Kim Dok Ja (played by Ahn Hyo Seop) who teams up with him to survive when the novel they were reading becomes reality. Calm, wise, and warm-hearted, Sang Ah uses her quick judgment to navigate danger and supports her teammates with unique abilities. “Sang Ah’s charm is in supporting others and helping them grow,” Chae said. Regarding the preparation for her action scenes, she added, “I trained at an action school, building strength and learning the basics.”

Nana plays Jeong Hee Won, a woman who fights for justice and cannot stand wrongdoing. After a life-or-death encounter with Kim Dok Ja’s group at Geumho Station, she joins the team and quickly becomes one of its most powerful members. “I trained for about four to five months, focusing on the basics and building stamina,” Nana shared. “It was my first time using daggers, so I worked hard to balance strength and fluidity.” Smiling, she added, “Using my body like that was so energizing. I actually want to be an action star now.”

Jisoo plays Lee Ji Hye, a high school student who follows the powerful Yoo Joong Hyuk (Lee Min Ho). Believing only the strong can survive in this new world, she initially refuses to join Kim Dok Ja’s company but reappears at critical moments to aid them. “A lot of the action choreography was new to me,” Jisoo said, “but I trained steadily to make it look natural.”

Omniscient Reader: The Prophet hits theaters nationwide on July 23rd.
