Kim Soo Hyun is facing a wave of legal action from multiple advertisers, with claims totaling over 7.3 billion won ($5.3 million), following public fallout from allegations involving the late actress Kim Sae Ron.

According to NewDaily on June 18, Kim has been sued by major advertisers including Cuckoo Electronics, Cuckoo Homesys, Cuckoo International Berhad (Malaysia), and medical aesthetics brand Classys.

Back in April, Cuckoo Electronics filed for a provisional seizure of Kim’s assets worth around 100 million won ($72,000). In May, Classys requested a provisional seizure of Kim’s high-end apartment at Galleria Foret in Seongsu-dong, valued at over 3 billion won.

Health functional food company From BIO filed a civil lawsuit last month seeking 3.96 billion won ($2.9 million) in damages against the actor and his agency Gold Medalist. Cosmetics brand Dinto’s parent company Trendmaker also reportedly filed a 501 million won ($362,000) damage compensation lawsuit in April.

The confirmed lawsuit amounts so far include 850 million won from Cuckoo Electronics, 2.03 billion won from Cuckoo Electronics, Cuckoo Homesys, and Cuckoo International Berhad Malaysia combined, and 3.96 billion won from From BIO, totaling approximately 7.3 billion won.

Kim Soo Hyun has strongly denied the allegations linking him romantically to Kim Sae Ron during her minor years, but as the controversy drags on and mutual accusations escalate, the damage to his image has been significant. Advertisers—who previously banked on his clean-cut persona—are now taking legal steps to hold him financially accountable for breach of contract and reputational harm.
