Kim Jae Won is officially set to become “Kim Go Eun‘s man” in the upcoming third season of Yumi’s Cells.
On May 19th, OSEN reported that Kim Jae Won will lead the TVING original Yumi’s Cells 3 as Shin Soon Rok, Yumi’s final boyfriend, marking the final arc of the hit romantic series based on the beloved webtoon. In the original story, Soon Rok is the final and most anticipated love interest, making the casting a hot topic among fans.
Kim Jae Won follows in the footsteps of Ahn Bo Hyun, who played Goo Woong in Season 1, and Park Jin Young, who took on Yoo Babi in Season 2. Now, Kim takes the spotlight as the finale’s leading man.
A model-turned-actor, Kim Jae Won debuted in 2018 and has quickly become one of Korea’s rising stars. He’s built an impressive resume with recent performances in Our Blues, Hierarchy, The Tale of Lady Ok, and The Trauma Code. Notably, Yumi’s Cells 3 will mark his second project with Kim Go Eun—he also appears in her upcoming Netflix original series You and Everything Else.
Meanwhile, original cast member Lee Yu Bi has also confirmed her return to the series. She played Ruby in Seasons 1 and 2, Yumi’s quirky and sometimes competitive coworker who evolves into one of her closest friends. Having already showcased their close friendship chemistry in previous seasons, viewers are eager to see how their relationship will evolve in the final installment.
